The Quran is Allah’s firm rope, a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and the straight path.
Allah says:
“And We send down from the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.” [Al-Isra: 82]
If you truly want the Quran to touch your heart and heal its ailments, you must strengthen your relationship with it. At Al-Ameen Academy, we are dedicated to teaching the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic studies in New York. If you want to learn, reach out to us!
1️⃣ Beware of Abandoning the Quran
One of the greatest punishments is to neglect the Quran. The Prophet ﷺ warned:
"The Quran is either a proof for you or against you." [Muslim]
So, never let days pass without reading it. Learn Arabic and Quran online in New York with Al-Ameen Academy and build a strong connection with the Quran.
2️⃣ Do Not Seek Worldly Gains Through It
Recite the Quran seeking Allah’s pleasure, not worldly rewards. The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Recite the Quran and seek Allah’s reward before a time comes when people recite it for worldly gain, rushing through it for immediate rewards instead of waiting for its true reward." [Sahih Al-Jami’ (1167)]
At Al-Ameen Academy, we focus on teaching the Quran sincerely and correctly. Learn Arabic and Quran online in New York with us and deepen your faith.
3️⃣ Do Not Turn the Quran into Mere Melodies
The Prophet ﷺ warned:
"I fear six things for my Ummah: foolish leadership, bloodshed, corruption in justice, severing of family ties, a generation that treats the Quran like a song, and an excessive number of law enforcers." [Sahih Al-Jami’ (216)]
This means we should not exaggerate in singing the Quran like a song, as it was not revealed for entertainment. However, the Prophet ﷺ encouraged beautifying our recitation, saying:
"Beautify the Quran with your voices, for a beautiful voice enhances the beauty of the Quran." [Al-Darimi, authenticated by Al-Albani]
At Al-Ameen Academy, we help students perfect their recitation. Learn Arabic and Quran online in New York with professional teachers who focus on Tajweed and correct pronunciation.
4️⃣ Keep Revising the Quran
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Keep refreshing your memory of the Quran, for it escapes from the hearts faster than camels untied from their ropes." [Bukhari & Muslim]
Memorization and revision are key aspects of our teaching at Al-Ameen Academy. Learn Arabic and Quran online in New York and strengthen your Quranic knowledge with us.
5️⃣ Read It in a State of Purity
To honor the Quran, read it while in a state of purity and cleanse your mouth with a miswak. The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Purify your mouths with the miswak, for they are the pathways of the Quran." [Sahih Al-Jami’ (3939)]
How Often Should We Complete the Quran?
Abdullah ibn Amr رضي الله عنه said:
"The Prophet ﷺ told me: ‘Recite the Quran in a month.’ (In another narration: ‘in forty days’). I said: ‘I have more strength than that.’ He replied: ‘Then complete it in three days.’" [Abu Dawood, authenticated by Al-Albani]
So, do not let more than 40 days pass without completing it. If you do, you are at a loss. At the same time, do not rush to finish it in less than three days—except in special times and places, like Ramadan or the Sacred Mosque in Makkah.
At Al-Ameen Academy, we help students complete their Quranic recitation at a steady and meaningful pace. Learn Arabic and Quran online in New York and progress in your journey of faith with us.
